Bio
Laura Vogt is a historian, storyteller, and poet. Her forthcoming debut In the Great Quiet is a sweeping, transportive historical novel based on her ancestor. Laura Vogt is a historian, storyteller, and poet. Her forthcoming debut In the Great Quiet is a sweeping, transportive historical novel based on her ancestor. It's a wild west adventure in the tradition of Cold Mountain and The Four Winds, following a tenacious pioneer's adventure into the unknown. Laura studied literature and history in undergrad and graduate school, focusing on Shakespeare, folktales, and the history of mentalities. She attended the University of Iowa Writing Workshop writing program in Ireland, and has been published in various journals, including Fourteen Hills, Pleiades, Enchanted Living Magazine, and South Carolina Review.
